Shadow Hearts is a sequel to Koudelka, the latter of which was heavily inspired by Wales’ scenery.
Players return to the setting of Nemeton Monastery in Aberystwyth, where the original location’s design was influenced by St Davids Cathedral following a research trip the developers took to Pembrokeshire.
The titular character of the first game, Koudelka Iasant, born in Welsh village Abergynolwyn, makes an appearance in Shadow Hearts.
The sequel, Shadow Hearts: Covenant (also known as Shadow Hearts II), features further Welsh references.
