Excalibur is a weapon that can be obtained in Mobius Final Fantasy.
In Arthurian tales, Excalibur is the legendary sword of King Arthur, with its name ultimately deriving from the Welsh Caledfwlch, where caled means ‘hard’ and bwlch is ‘cleft’. It appears in many interpretations of the stories of King Arthur, but it is first mentioned in Welsh mythology, including the earliest surviving Welsh tale, Culhwch and Olwen (Culhwch ac Olwen).
Excalipoor can also be obtained. Throughout theĀ Final Fantasy series, this sword (sometimes going by other similar names) is often portrayed as a weaker or fake version of the superior Excalibur.
The Galatyn sword (sometimes spelled “Galantine”, or “Galatine”) references the blade of the same name that belonged to Gawain, an Arthurian knight said to be based on the mythical Welsh hero Gwalchmei.
Another weapon is Avalon’s Blessing, taking its name from Avalon, the island from Welsh mythology that King Arthur was said to be taken to to recover from his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. Avalon is also said to be the placed where Arthur’s sword Excalibur was forged.
The Lady of the Lake job card references the various Arthurian depictions of the Ladies of the Lake, with many believing the Welsh sorceress Morgan to be the original character of the legend.
