There is a character in the Net Slum called Culhwch, taking their name from the Welsh mythology character that appears in medieval Welsh tale Culhwch ac Olwen.

In the mythical Welsh story, Culhwch’s mother gave birth to him in a pigs’ run, reflecting the literal translation of his name from the Welsh language.

Series antagonist Morganna can be said to derive their name from the Arthurian character Morgan le Fay, or the Welsh name Morgan or Morgen.
