The 2007 Wii game Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and its 2005 GameCube prequel, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, feature characters that appear in both titles with names of Welsh origin.

The character Greil used to be known as Gawain prior to the events of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. In Welsh legend, Gawain was a nephew and knight of King Arthur. The name Greil may reference the Holy Grail treasure from the same tales.

The character Gareth can derive his name from the knight of the same name in the legend of King Arthur, where he was also the brother of Gawain.

Rhys’ name is of Welsh origin, and can mean “ardour”, “passion”, “enthusiasm”, and “fiery”.

Creiddylad is a Light magic tome wielded by the character Sephiran. In Welsh mythology, Creiddylad was the daughter of King Lludd, and appeared in the legends of King Arthur, specifically the tale Culhwch ac Olwen.
