Excalibur is a weapon that Soma Cruz can wield in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.
It is a sword stuck in a large stone, with Soma swinging the entire rock when the weapon is used. Due to its unique characteristics, it is classified as a hammer rather than a sword in this instance.
“Excalibur” derives from Caledfwlch (“hard cleft”), the original Welsh name of the sword, but this game’s version of the legendary weapon references the later mythical interpretations in which King Arthur pulled it from a stone to become rightful ruler of Britain.
