The premise and many characters in Cassette Beasts are based on those from Arthurian legend.
The character Gwenivar, mostly going by “Gwen” in the game, is played by Welsh actress Bronwen Price.
Gwenivar is the Breton language variant of Gwenhwyfar, the wife of King Arthur in Welsh legends. Gwen is a female Welsh name meaning “white, blessed, fair, holy”.
The character Aleph was based on the King Arthur of legend, and he mentions in the game that he was once called Arthur in the past.
Morgante’s character comes from Morgan le Fay, who has roots in Welsh myths as Morgen, as well as other Celtic mythologies.
