The sword Dyrnwyn is obtainable in Barony.

Dyrnwyn (meaning “White Hilt” in Welsh) was one of the Thirteen Treasures of the Island of Britain and owned by Rhydderch Hael (Rhydderch the Generous). Rhydderch was a ruler of the Hen Ogledd (Old North) of Britain and appeared in mythical works such as the Welsh Triads, earning his name for his generosity in allowing others to wield the sword. The blade of Dyrnwyn was said to burst into flame if it was held by a worthy man, but due to its peculiarities, recipients would reject it.

Barony‘s version of Dyrnwyn incorporates the flaming mythical qualities of the sword by inflicting fire damage on foes.

Within the game, Dyrnwyn is held by the rare human non-playable character King Arthur, another mythical Welsh figure.

Merlin also appears as a character, referencing the wizard originating from Myrddin Wyllt.
