Developer Muscle Cat has announced life simulation game Alawon: Life of a Game Composer.
As a game composer trying to make it big after moving to Cardiff, players can create music using a digital audio workstation that allows for the sharing of their masterpieces with others through platforms such as Twitch.
Alawon (which is a Welsh word meaning “melodies”) encourages players to train their music skills, build a reputation for themselves, and work up the ladder in order to fulfill their composer dreams, all while living in the hustle and bustle of Wales’ capital city and competing in an industry threatened by generative AI.
Forming relationships with other characters, many of which have Welsh names, is a part of the process, and NPCs operate through a 24-hour clock that gives them lives of their own. Romances and branching paths for alternative endings are possible, while new homes and instruments can be unlocked as progress is made.
Muscle Cat is fronted by Welsh composer Harvey Carman, whose personal background plays a huge part in Alawon‘s setting.
Alawon: Life of a Game Composer is scheduled for release on Steam sometime in 2027 and can be added to your wishlist now.
