Welsh actors have appeared throughout video games in 2024 in a variety of roles. Many of these were highly rated titles that included the likes of Black Myth: Wukong, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. Read on for a closer look at the characters and games these talented folk from Wales were a part of this year.
Jack Ayres
Jack Ayres had a number of roles across 2024, including playing Beloved Scudder in Don’t Nod’s Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Andromalius and Mammon in the remake of strategy game Solium Infernum, Selevan Nanakt in Card-en-Ciel, the Operator in Illuvium, as well as various voices in BioWare’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Jack also provided the voices for Jimmy and the twin brothers Gunter and Hagen Gudrun in Robust Games’ point-and-click adventure game Loco Motive.
Perhaps Jack’s biggest role of the year, however, came in the form of Zhu Bajie in Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong, a game inspired by the 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West. Zhu Bajie is a half-human, half-pig character that provides a dose of humour throughout the adventure, accompanying and fighting alongside the protagonist, Sun Wukong.
Tobias Weatherburn
On top of various soldier roles, Tobias Weatherburn voiced Enoe and Forreger in Rabbit and Bear Studios’ role-playing game Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. He also played Scott Hudson in Singular Perception’s virtual reality title Epyka, and provided multiple voices for 11 Bit Studios’ city building game Frostpunk 2.
Capping off the year, Tobias appeared in the Saber St. Petersburg-developed Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II as the brutal Assault Marine Vespasius.

Bronwen Price
Bronwen Price appeared as Prada Lun in the Astral Clocktower Studios game Kristala, which released into Steam Early Access this year, and she had multiple roles in Dungeons and Dragons Online: Magic of Myth Drannor. These included being one of the Dungeon Master voices, as well as portraying Dracolich and a Welsh-accented Drow Elf Bard.
In Enotria: The Last Song, an Italian mythology-inspired action role-playing game developed by Jyamma Games, Bronwen voiced Maja, the Goddess of Life and Death.
Joseph Tweedale
One of the hits of the year was the Studio Zero-developed Metaphor: ReFantazio, a role-playing game that featured a memorable antagonist in the form of Louis Guiabern.
Played by Joseph Tweedale, Louis left a lasting impression on those that played the game, not just because of how he was written, but also due to the performance of the Welsh actor that voiced him in the English localisation.
Kezia Burrows
Outside of the additional non-playable character voices she provided for Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2, Kezia Burrows’ main video game role this year came in the shape of Katra in Chimera Entertainment’s Songs of Silence strategy title.
Kezia provided a strong Welsh accent for Katra, the fierce warrior of the Konstruktor unit class.
Matthew Gravelle
One of 2022’s standout titles, Elden Ring received brand-new additional content with the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree earlier this year.
With the main game already blessed with a host of Welsh acting talent featuring a variety of Welsh accents, it is pleasing to see this theme continue in the expansion, as Matthew Gravelle voiced the role of Ymir.
Gareth David-Lloyd
Carrying on from his previous performance, Gareth David-Lloyd once again voices the elven mage Solas in BioWare’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Set ten years after Dragon Age: Inquisition, Solas attempts to break the boundary separating the physical world from the spiritual one that contains his fellow elven gods in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
